The Member of Parliament for Biakoye Constituency, Hon. Jean-Marie Formadi, has outlined a series of development-focused initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods and strengthening community engagement across the constituency.
Speaking in an interview with media personality Afua Malume on Aluta Sports Highlights, the MP emphasised her commitment to youth empowerment through skills development. She noted that several young people are currently being trained in tie and dye as part of efforts to equip them with practical, income-generating skills.
Touching on social intervention programmes, Hon. Formadi spoke about the “Nkokor Nkitinkiti” initiative, urging beneficiaries who have already registered to prepare their “hencopes” in readiness for distribution. She described the programme as one of the avenues through which her office supports vulnerable groups within the constituency.
The MP also highlighted her regular visits to communities, stressing that consistent engagement with constituents has been key in identifying pressing needs and fostering stronger relationships. According to her, this approach has improved communication and allowed for more responsive governance.
On matters of social welfare, Hon. Formadi addressed the disbursement of the 2 percent allocation from the Persons with Disability Common Fund (PWDC). She assured residents of a transparent and efficient process, emphasising that the distribution would be carried out without political bias. She also took the opportunity to commend the President for ongoing national development efforts.
In the education sector, the MP spoke about measures implemented under the School Feeding Programme. She indicated that steps have been taken to ensure that suppliers are paid promptly for their services, alongside the introduction of monitoring systems to enhance accountability and efficiency.
Access to clean water also featured prominently in her address. Hon. Formadi revealed that 17 boreholes have so far been drilled and mechanised across communities including Ahondzo, Nstumuru, Dzigbe, Kwamekrom, Sibrisu and Apesokubi. She further disclosed plans to construct an additional 30 boreholes to improve water accessibility in other parts of the constituency.
Hon. Formadi reaffirmed her dedication to inclusive development, noting that her initiatives are designed to uplift all residents regardless of political affiliation.
